The BBC and Virgin Media (NASDAQ: VMED) today announced the launch of High Definition (HD) content on BBC iPlayer on Virgin Media.

Eurosport have revealed that the HD channel will soon be included on the Virgin Media network and will be the first of many new HD channels to be added on the cable TV provider’s network over the next few months.

Eurosport HD launched on Sky back in July 2008 and is the high definition version of the main international Eurosport channel which includes the coverage of many high profile sporting events such as the Tour de France, World Touring Car Championships and the French Open Tennis Championship.
